Allison Sargent was born into a musical family and began the journey at the age of 6 when she was enrolled in Suzuki Violin lessons. She grew up in California and Arizona and attended Northern Arizona University where she was awarded a full ride Orchestral Performance Scholarship and ultimately received a Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Performance. Over the past twenty years Allison has been involved in a number of school and community orchestral programs. She has studied with Dr. Louise Scott, Dr. Sue Baer, Dr. Karin Hallberg, Dr. Pete Sorenson, Davin Rife, Whyne Wong Rife, and Jennifer Goff among many others. Dr. Louise Scott trained and mentored Allison for her Suzuki Violin Teacher Training Registration Books 1-4+. Other Short Term Suzuki trainers include Kim Sullivan, Susan Kempter, Bill Dick, and Shelly Rich.

Performance Experience

Allison has earned the position of Concertmaster in the Northern Arizona University Symphony, Tucson Foothills Philharmonic, Canyon Del Oro Symphonic Orchestras, and in numerous summer institutes across the United States. Playing violin has taken Allison all over the world. She has toured to Chicago, Las Vegas, Hollywood, all major cities in Arizona and to Scotland. She has also played as a section violinist for the Flagstaff, Arizona Symphony Orchestra, Northern Arizona University Chamber Groups and Orchestra, Tucson Philharmonic, and locally with the Round Rock Symphony Orchestra. Allison relocated from Arizona to Texas in 2009.

Teaching Experience

Allison has been teaching violin, viola and piano in the Austin Texas area since 2009. Allison has been an IMIP instructor at Cedar Ridge High School, Round Rock High School, Hopewell Middle School, and Stony Point High School in the past few years. She has coached and run master classes of students in Pflugerville and Round Rock on region and all-state excerpts. Before relocating to Texas Allison taught at the Northern Arizona University Music and Dance Academy for five years where she managed private students, group classes and hosted recitals and community performances. Her students have ranged from ages three and up and levels beginning to advanced. Allison enjoys teaching and motivating her students each week.
